Caribbean: Aruba

Overview
Flying there from Orlando, we got quite the bargain. We called the airlines for a great deal of $399.00 usd flight only. And called the Aruba Tourist information board for numbers of hotels to stay in. We stayed in the Raddisson Aruba. It was beautiful! Everyone in Aruba that we encountered were so friendly. So many things to do, from sitting on the beach all day, and squeezing in some water sports to 100 casino's to choose from 24 hours a day, or going for a drive in your jeep to the natural caves, or rock formations just 1/2 hour away. Did I mention shopping? So many shops to choose from! And surely, and the end of your day, if you have already been at the casino's hit the night clubs, everything from dance, to latin music...The people of Aruba speak "Papiamento" which is a mixture of Dutch, Spanish, French, Portuguese and English.

Something for everyone!

Getting There
From the airport, take a taxi. They'll even give you a little information session on the Island before you get to your hotel! Where better get your information from than a local!!

Accommodations
Aruba was great. The people of coarse are what make the place. And as I said already...the people are great. Anything you need...they'll help you with.

Food and Service
We were on a bit of a budget. And food I must admit was a bit pricey. We ate out about 4 times that week. (Not everyday and not 3 times a day.) We found that just having a coffee at the hotel for breakfast and our first meal being lunch, saved us quite a bit of money. We also found that for dinner (since we prefer to eat dinner late) that after about 9 o'clock we didn't have to much of a choice on where to eat anymore...things close up very early.

Activities
natural bridge, natural pool, lots of caves... it only takes 4 hours to drive from one side of the Island to another!

Fitness
Our hotel, had a fitness room, and a large pool. Many water sports were also available.

Childcare
Our hotel did have some children, but not having any children myself, i didn't notice if there were any activities for children.
